Salvatore Del Deo - An Artist's Journey

07 July, 2024 — PROVINCETOWN, MA — Short Documentary (25:06) Salvatore Del Deo arrived in Provincetown in 1946 to learn more about painting and decided to build a life centered around his art and community. The 1976 sinking of the Patricia Marie profoundly affected him, transforming his work and inspiring three large paintings. On June 29, 2024, one of the three paintings was donated to Provincetown’s town hall by owner Kevin McLaughlin. The piece will hang alongside Charles Hawthorne’s masterpiece, the 'Crew of the Philomena Manta,' fulfilling one of Del Deo’s lifelong dreams.
